One person was killed and a second was injured after a single-car crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 275, according to Michigan State Police.
A driver was going north on I-275 near Interstate 94 at 1:40 a.m. when they drove off the left side of the highway and struck a concrete bridge pillar, according to a MSP post on X.
The passenger in the front seat was ejected from the vehicle, but it caught fire and the driver was unable to escape, according to MSP. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger went to a local hospital for medical treatment.
MSP did not give an age or hometown of the driver or passenger.
