Bears blockbuster trade proposal would swap day-2 draft pick for $62 million superstar

The Chicago Bears have been aggressive this offseason after hiring Ben Johnson as head coach. In a loaded NFC North, they could look to swing a blockbuster trade.

The Cincinnati Bengals have been trying to trade Trey Hendrickson. He led the league in sacks last season but is in line for a new contract. NFLTradeRumors Logan Ulrich proposed this trade that swaps a day-two pick for Hendrickson:

"The Bears have the ammunition to go get Hendrickson, if they want," wrote Ulrich. "They have four picks in the first three rounds, including an extra second-rounder from Carolina that they put on the table here. Even with all the spending this year, they're still in good shape because of the advantages of having starting QB Caleb Williams on a rookie contract, even though he was the No. 1 pick. The goal is clearly to stack the roster around Williams as much as possible, and adding Hendrickson would help accomplish that."

The Bears have signed Drew Dalman, Dayo Odeyingbo and Grady Jarrett this offseason. They also traded for Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney. Adding Hendrickson would set the Bears up to be a competitive team in the division.

Hendrickson is a four-time Pro Bowler and was an All-Pro last season. He has 35 sacks in the last two seasons and Spotrac projects him to sign a two-year, $62 million deal this offseason.
