Introducing The News-Press 2025 All-Area Flag Football Team

At the end of each season, The News-Press selects All-Area teams honoring the best athletes for every sport. Coaches from area schools are sent nomination forms and asked to nominate and rank their athletes as well as those from other teams. That data combined with The News-Press' research led to the selection of the All-Area teams.

Highlights: The sixth-grader was beyond impressive for the Griffins, leading the secondary with nine interceptions, adding four sacks and 40 flag pulls to help Gateway Charter to a 9-3 finish with a regional playoff win.

Highlights: Dinkel's dominance was evident on both sides of the ball, finishing with 586 receiving yards, 182 rushing yards, and eight total touchdowns. Defensively, Dinkel led the area with 67 flag pulls, adding 13 sacks and 6 interceptions, including a pair of pick-sixes and a punt return for a touchdown.

Highlights: Dominguez was a cheat code for the Red Knights, rushing 54 times for 544 yards with 12 touchdowns, adding 12 receptions for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Defensively, the sophomore had 50 flag pulls, 8 sacks, and 2 interceptions, helping North achieve a perfect regular season.

Highlights: Johnson did a little bit of everything offensively, throwing for 522 yards and 6 touchdowns, rushing for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns, and hauling in 14 passes for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns. Defensively, she had 35 flag pulls, 13 sacks, and 3 interceptions, helping the Griffins to a regional semifinal game.

Highlights: Kalsow led the Bull Sharks defense with nine interceptions while adding 18 flag pulls. Offensively, the senior completed 17 of 30 passes for 121 yards and 8 touchdowns, rushed for 137 yards and 5 touchdowns, and caught 12 passes for 63 yards, helping Bonita Springs lead the area with 10 wins.

Highlights: Knoerlein was Estero's leading receiver, hauling in 48 passes for 363 yards with a touchdown, adding 69 passing yards and a score. Defensively, the junior finished with 6 interceptions, 28 flag pulls, and had a pick-six in a 21-0 win over Fort Myers.

Highlights: The junior quarterback was solid as a passer and a runner, throwing for 795 yards, rushing for 478 more, and accounting for 16 total touchdowns to lead North to a 9-1 season. Molloy also added 25 flag pulls, 6 sacks, and an interception.

Highlights: O'Halloran was a key piece in Verot's run to a district title, completing 62-of-87 passes for 694 yards, adding 59 rushes for 406 rushing yards, and 24 receptions for 191 yards. The senior accounted for 19 total touchdowns this season, helping the Vikings to a 9-3 record.

Highlights: O'Nan was critical to Riverdale's offensive success, finishing with 1,216 passing yards, 27 passing touchdowns, 376 rushing yards, and 7 rushing scores. The senior led the Raiders with 11 interceptions and added 32 flag pulls to help the program finish 9-4.

Highlights: Romanlopez found her stride immediately in the first year of Gateway Charter's flag program, hauling in 31 passes for 448 yards with 6 touchdowns. The senior added 31 flag pulls and 6 interceptions for the Griffins, which included a regional semifinal appearance in Class 1A.

Highlights: Terry led the Bull Sharks with 64 flag pulls, adding 8 interceptions. Offensively, the junior threw for 821 yards and 10 touchdowns, while adding a pair of rushing scores.

Highlights: The sophomore did a ton for the Wolfpack this season, which included 785 offensive yards, 19 total touchdowns, 12 interceptions on defense, four pick-sixes, and averaged 11 flag pulls per game as the Wolfpack went 6-4.

Highlights: Villegas guided the Vikings to a district championship in their first season, finishing with a 9-3 record along with a playoff appearance in what was the toughest region locally. Verot beat Bonita Springs and Estero for the Class 2A-District 13 title before falling to Mater Lakes Academy in the regional quarterfinal round.
